Payment Methods

Swiss Rail Tickets supports secure online payment for train ticket orders placed on swissrail.net. Available payment methods may vary by country, device, card issuer, payment provider, order amount, currency, and risk-control result.

Accepted Payment Options

  • Major credit and debit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB, Discover, and other supported card networks where available.
  • PayPal where available.
  • Apple Pay or Google Pay where supported by your device, browser, card issuer, and payment provider.

Payment Security

Payments are processed through secure third-party payment providers. We use encrypted connections for checkout and do not store full card numbers or card security codes on our own systems. Your bank or payment provider may require additional authentication, such as 3-D Secure, one-time passwords, or app confirmation.

Currency and Charges

Order prices may be displayed in supported currencies. Your card issuer or payment provider may apply exchange rates, foreign transaction fees, or additional bank charges. The amount shown by your bank may differ slightly because of exchange-rate timing or issuer fees.

Failed or Pending Payments

If payment fails or remains pending, please check that your card details, billing information, available balance, online payment permission, and authentication steps are correct. Do not submit repeated duplicate orders before checking the order status. If you are unsure whether payment succeeded, contact us with your email address and attempted order information.

Payment Confirmation

A successful payment does not always mean a ticket has already been issued. After payment confirmation, we submit or complete the ticketing process. You will receive order and ticket updates by email or through the order page.

Refunds to Original Payment Method

Where a refund is approved, it is normally returned to the original payment method. Refund posting time depends on the payment provider, card network, issuing bank, and local banking process.
